A Long Journey

Well the day has finally arrived. Picked up all my notes, organized the confirmations, confirmed with Dan what day we are REALLY returning to the US (seems he scheduled 2 appointments 4 days before we return), and called Verizon as I am bound and determined to have electronic data this trip.

Our flight left San Diego at 4PM, we are 45 minutes from the airport.  Well Dan informed my TSA screening is taking hours, we need to be a minimum of 3 hours early at 11:30 he is chomping at the bit to leave.  What are we going to do at the airport for 3hours?  The morale of the story. 45 minutes to the airport (yes, Scott the Uber driver drove the speed limit), bag check outside 5 minutes, had to go inside and talk to desk clerk 5 minutes, and on to the dreaded security screening; 5 minutes.  So all in all we wait another 90 minutes for boarding.  At least we didn't miss the flight.

All connections smooth a little worried in London but our ticket and fast pass got us through customs in time to just walk to the gate and on the plane.  There were 2 people in line coming into Milan customs.  Not sure what gods were watching.  In short we are in Italy!
