Venice Day 2

Breakfast is a trip to the corner bakery which is literally at the end of the street.  Verl and Reba head off to see Cemetery Island, Verl is our official trip photographer wanted to get there early.  More vapporetto problems and they called to update us on the plan and I reminded them of Mrs Ada.

Who is Mrs. Ada?  The apartment we rented offered us the opportunity to have Mrs Ada cook an Italian meal.  The experience also included a trip to the market.  As we understood the plan Mrs Ada would come to the apartment and we would go to the market with her and have dinner later that night.  Reba is on her way to Cemetery Island, but decides to return so we can do the market experience together.

We spend the morning waiting, waiting and more waiting.  Apparently, a miscommunication.  I don't understand how since Mrs Ada speaks no English and we no Italian.  Several text later between the property manager Nicolas and Mrs. Ada new arrangements are made for the next night, unfortunately most of our day has also been wasted, probably for the best Venice is hotter than the day before and only the tourists are about.

Reba and I went off to get the laundry.  This was a breeze to day, we  got off at the correct vapporetto stop walked down the correct street and the laundry was waiting for us.  Reba will have clean clothes, Dan and I will make do.  Hope there is a washer and dryer at the hotel in the mountains.

We had made arrangements with Nicholas to show us some of Venice.  It is a good thing our day started out late.  The heat continues and our clothes are wet within the hour and not do to any rain.  We plan to take the vapporetto a couple of stops and Nicholas, Reba and I are not allowed to board, it was too packed.  We yell the name of the stop to Dan and Verl  and hope they will get off.  Perhaps missing in Venice part 2?  All is well no problems.

Nicholas shows us a park with a lovely rooftop garden and we end our day at Saint Marks square.  The square is still filled with tourists and pigeons although all the buildings are closed.  Music in the background a truly beautiful night.  Off to the vapporetto stop and to home.  Unfortunately, there is a delay in boats and the mosquitos attack.  Overpacked, Dan to the rescue; the only one of us with mosquito repellent.  Best news is we get in the apartment and the air conditioning is wonderful.
