Tolerance for wine?

We made it to Varenna which is one of the cities on Lake Como that had a train station and Rick Steve's recommends.  How can you go wrong?  Again after wandering the train station looking for our baggage claim hoping that there was only one we collect the baggage and are off    We did not heed the pack light motto so lifting suitcases is now a monumental task.    We arrive at the station and a short walk to the hotel, downhill we are ready to roll.

We get checked in and the proprietress advises us the elevator is around the corner but only goes to the 3rd floor, our room is on the 4th floor.  Next time a little better planning on my part.  We are here for 3 nights I unpack and notify our atm and credit card company of the loss and pray my cards will continue to work. We will know tomorrow.  Now downstairs I am sure it is happy hour and it has started to rain.

We spend the next hour sitting in our hotel veranda drinking wine and talking to other Americans watching the rain and the ferry unload and load passengers going to other towns on the lake. We chose to have dinner at the hotel with the other new arrivals.  Nothing better than fresh homemade pasta, tiramisu and more wine.  The rain stops and we walk into town all is almost closed, the rain restarts and we head back. A long day with a 4AM start.
