Cinque Terre at Last: Is it possible to get lost using boat transportation

We manipulated the luggage, yes over packed again and made it to Cinque Terre.   Now everyone loves this part of northern Italy.  We will have 2 full days and 3 nights; on night 1 Dan made friends with the proprietor.  His brandy night cap awaits for him each night, tonight even I got a sample of homemade Limoncello a Cinque Terre and northern Italy special.  Different than what we drink in the US.

Well the decision is do we hike any part of the trails between the towns?  That decision was tabled and we decided to explore by boat.  There is a ferry that runs by all the towns.  The boats cruises up to a rock that juts into the sea and a portable gangplank is pushed out to meet the rock and the boat unloads.  Here in lies the challenge.  All the towns are built above the sea so you are climbing stairs to get to the towns.  My Fitbit logged 14 flights of stairs today and only 8000 or so steps.

The views are amazing.  See next entry with views of the sea.  We still haven't decided if we are going to hike tomorrow but started down stairs to catch the boat.   Are waiting in line with 50 to 100 people and really want to get back to the town we are staying in because wine is waiting.  The boat arrives and we board.  Unfortunately,  it is going the opposite direction and we wind up 40 minutes south.  So this shows you we can get lost even when we know where we are going.  The morale of the story.   Pay attention to the schedule.  No worries we have an all day pass.  I am now up to date with the blog and we still haven't decided if there will be a hike tomorrow, after wine and Limoncello i
